There are many devices that may no longer meet the needs of the user, especially in a workplace environment where software needs more resources with newer operating systems than it has in the past. Users are opting for portable and multipurpose devices such as 2-1 Laptop / Tablets as businesses are changing after the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Now, with recent utilization of AI more devices will be upgraded to support the capacities it may have to help them streamline processes and resources. Windows 10 Support will be ending soon, not every device will be able to Upgrade to Windows 11 in the near future.
Hundreds of a local students' do not have access to a computer or tablet device at home to do homework and research that many of us can do from the palm of our hand. Senior Citizens may have very old, outdated technology if at all that cannot support newer applications with video conferencing that is becoming widely utilized in our medical community.
Instead of sending devices to an early end, we maximize its potential to give someone a helping hand in our digital society.
However you wish to look at it, the Digital Divide won't be resolved overnight. But, with RE Pete PC our goal is to start filling it in by refurbishing donated devices that would have ended up in long term storage or a recycling facility or landfill. These devices may no longer meet the needs of the company but they can meet the needs of many home users in their community.
The owner, Eric has been curious and interested in Electronics since he was a child. He'd draw powerlines in books and on any scrap paper he could find. Imagine how fun it was to draw on some dot matrix paper that could go on and on and on.
Thankfully, his grandmother worked at a Manufacture of Motherboards and taught Eric many of the basics he knows today including assembling a computer, the basics of a motherboard and components, etc.
As time progressed, the curiosity and interest continued to advance as he began to learn new technology during the 2000's. During High School, Eric Attended a Vocational /Trade School in Computer Technology preparing him for his COMP TIA A+ Certification.
